Annette Thurlow, Caister Lifeboat’s new 14m Medina Class vessel, built by Diverse Marine, is designed to perform in the toughest conditions while keeping our crew safe and ready for every rescue.
With self-righting capability, a dedicated stretcher area, and All-Salt Shoxs suspension seats for six crew, it’s a dependable platform for life-saving missions.
Its raked stem reduces impact when recovering to the beach in rough seas, ensuring a smoother ride for both crew and rescued survivors.

Designed for Rescue
Inside, the vessel is built for efficiency and safety:
- Dedicated stretcher area with unrestricted, level access
- Spacious wheelhouse with six SHOXS 2000 suspension seats and 4-point harnesses
- Survivor cabin below deck, plus tea station, heating, and air conditioning
- Advanced navigation and communication systems, including radar, GPS, AIS, satellite phone, and thermal camera
Deck equipment includes anchors, tow reels, safety tracks, and fire-fighting systems — all ready to tackle whatever the North Sea throws at us.
